Cincinnati Wins "Chapter of The Year"

The 26th annual BDPA National Conference was held in Dallas Texas from August 4-8, 2004. The Cincinnati chapter was honored prominently at this years conference. Cincinnati received chapter of the years honors as well as the Professional Development Award. Awards were presented based on demonstrated and documented proficiency in the area of chapter management; professional development; membership management and supporting the goals of BDPA.

The Memphis chapter High School Computer Camp (HSCC) team won a 4th straight HSCC title. Teams from 23 cities competed in this years' competition. Southern Minnesota took the 2nd prize and New Albany, one of our new teams took the 3rd prize. Congratulations are in order for these high school superstars.

Nabil Ali and Rosa Lyons from the Cincinnati Chapter won third place team in the Youth Camp Quiz Bowl competition. Congratulations to Nabil and Rosa.

The National President, Wayne Hicks and our President Elect, Gina Billings, also from the Cincinnati Chapter, continue to lead the nations largest minority technology organization to greater heights. This year's conference was supported by 107 corporations nationwide and this number will surely be surpassed next year in Detroit.

Work has started on the 2005 BDPA National Conference which will be held in Detroit Michigan and the canvass for Cincinnati High School students will begin in mid-September. Please continue to work with us to make the world a better place to live through technology.
